Position Summary: NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity) tests on upper and lower extremities. Assists physicians with EMG testing & examination. Maintains order & efficiency of exam rooms. Assists with the studies as assigned.

 

Essential Job Functions: Prepares patient for EMG examination. Assists the physicians in conducting the EMG examination. Performs miscellaneous clerical functions. Obtains patients' EMG reports and distributes information as required. Maintain files on all requests for reports. Maintains clean EMG room and equipment. Replenishes lab supplies in examination room.

 

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Knowledge of basic physiology and anatomy Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and self-motivated. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to assist and position patients Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate sensitive equipment. requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.

 

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7-4 Friday 8-5
