Yard Hand/CDL Truck Driver

Description

Smith Lawnscapes LLC, a family-oriented landscape construction and maintenance company, is seeking a dependable Yard Hand and CDL Truck Driver to join our dedicated team.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a CDL A truck to transport landscaping materials, equipment, and supplies to various job sites
• Drive and operate trucks and equipment to support landscape construction projects
• Properly load, unload, and secure materials and equipment
• Operate a variety of loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, and other material handling equipment
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and required driver logs
• Use GPS and maps to safely plan routes
• Monitor and report equipment maintenance or repair needs
• Help keep the yard and equipment areas clean and organized
• Assist crews with general labor and field duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• CDL Class A with air brake endorsement preferred
• Previous truck driving/equipment operating experience required
• Knowledge of driver logs and vehicle inspection requirements
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Basic measurement and calculation skills
• Dependable with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must comply with required random drug and alcohol testing

 Working Conditions:

Fast paced environment, outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.  Some weekends may be required.
