Job DetailsJob Location: Family Dental - St. Joseph, MO 64506Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayDescribed Duties: 1. Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services (NHS) providers, supervisors, peers and subordinates to carry out the goals and objectives of Northwest Health Services according to established policies and procedures. 2. Treat others respectfully whether it is a patient, fellow employee, member of management, customer, vendor or visitor to our premises. 3. Provide oral health assessment, diagnosis and treatment as clinically indicated. 4. Ensure that his/her documentation in the oral health record justifies prescribed treatment and includes findings/progress, oral health orders and detailed plan of care, in accordance with oral health record policies. All notes are signed off within 24 hours of treatment. 5. Provide general dentistry care for all individuals without regard to ability to pay, race, color, origin or creed, according to Northwest Health Services policy. 6. Make and document proper referrals for treatments that are not available at this facility. Maintain cooperative relationships with local dentists and tertiary care facilities to ensure continuity of care for those patients referred for care. 7. Provide general supervision of registered dental hygienist and students. 8. Assist in developing policy and procedures for dental clinic and to integrate with multi-disciplinary family health services. 9. Participate in provider staff activities to develop, execute and periodically review the clinical management policies and systems to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care. 10. Inform staff of scheduled time away from duty, and any change in physician coverage. 11. Participate in patient staffing/planning conferences, reviewing clinical assessments, patient progress reports, and reviewing and approving the patients plan of care. 12. Provide consu8ltation, guidance and direction to dental support staff to ensure continuity and quality of services and care. 13. Comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. Essential Job Functions: 1. Participate in community and public relations activities as a representative of Northwest Health Services, Inc., as time permits. 7. Attendance and punctuality is consistent with institutional standards. 8. Provides proper notification of absence or tardiness. QualificationsQualifications/Requirements: 1. Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Missouri Dental Board. 2. Licensure: Valid license to practice dentistry in the State of Missouri, Bureau of Dangerous Drugs license and DEA license; CPR certified. 3. Abilities: Insurable for professional liability. 4. Demonstrate basic computer skills. 5. Possess light typing skills, computer knowledge helpful. Must demonstrate accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency. 6. Possess BLS certification. 7. Possess cognitive skills necessary to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. 8. Possess light typing skills, computer knowledge. Possess ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, and other individuals encountered in the course of employment. 9. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and proof of insurance for personal vehicle used for business.
