Division Technical Manager

The Divisional Technical Manager will be responsible for analytical laboratories in multiple locations in our Omnium manufacturing sites throughout the US. Oversite of a team of 30 plus professional salaried and non-exempt personnel including new product development, setting and enforcing QA/QC policy, contamination prevention assurance, and insure regulatory compliance at all locations. The individual will provide technical support for all new product development (to internal and external customers) and construction, M&A due diligence, and guidance of division cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts. This role is also influential in Performance Management and Talent Development within the Supply Chain Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct Omnium and Plant Nutrition Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities including management of all plant labs and their personnel
  • This position will manage Multi Million Dollars in capital projects, departmental budget and cost reductions
  • Interface with Plants, external customers, and Land O’Lakes R&D regarding all new product development, quality assurance, contamination prevention, and complaint resolution. Also, support International Development in the areas of expertise
  • Support in coordination of Engineering, Construction, and Process Development at all locations
  • Insure regulatory compliance at multiple sites
  • Interface with internal and external quality initiatives and compliance
  • Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts at all locations


Required Education/Experience:

  • BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant education
  • 10+ years in the Chemical, Fertilizer or Adhesive Industry driving fundamental process capability improvements, capital upgrades and supporting new product and technology implementations
  • 5 plus years in Agricultural chemicals with lab and process development experience highly desirable
  • A minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in a chemical or manufacturing industry. Strong leadership who is results-driven with focus on future growth and optimization
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement projects

  • High degree of personal responsibility and initiative is required. Must possess a high level of integrity as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Masters of Science Degree (Chemistry, or related field)

Salary: $123,920 - $185,880

In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges
