Job Title:  YW Store Lead

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt       

Reports to: Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator



Job Purpose 

The YW-Store Lead oversees the daily operations of the YW-Store, including customer service, donation processing, inventory management, and store recordkeeping. This position maintains a safe, organized, and welcoming environment while ensuring effective store presentation, visual merchandising, and operational efficiency.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities    

  • Keep the store organized and flowing smoothly, maintaining a neat and safe environment for shoppers, as well as maintaining the security of the store.
  • Assist guests with making selections or locating items not readily available.
  • Rotate clothing regularly to keep the store looking fresh and new. Pack and store out-of-season or excess items. Work with the supervisor to offer items to community partners before sending them to other resources.
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with the supervisor regarding store operations, inventory needs, donation requests, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Manage inventory and donation processing by collecting, sorting, organizing, and tracking donated items; maintain accurate records of store usage, and ensure timely and accurate data entry into the appropriate database.
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with YWCA policies and procedures while ensuring the confidentiality of guests and sensitive information.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required and/or assigned.
  • Commitment to the YWCA mission of Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women.
  • Other related duties as required and/or assigned.



Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively engage and build relationships with diverse populations/
  • Access to private transportation, valid driver's license with insurance complying with minimum agency standards.
  • Manage YW-Store Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm daily, with one day per week from 10:00 am-7:00 pm.
  • 32-hour workweek with flexibility regarding days/times to meet guests’ needs and business demands.
  • Work schedule includes evening hours.
  • Employee works in an office environment and is protected from weather conditions and contaminants, but is required to travel to/from community presentations/events, trainings, etc.

 

Physical Requirements    

  • Standing or sitting for long periods, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
  • Repetitive hand motion (such as typing).
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, routinely.
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform activities requiring cooperation, instruction, persuasion, or speaking with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person with guests.
