About the role

Coordinates and facilitates student education in state laws and regulations related to driving.

What you'll do

  • Provide instruction to students by teaching from approved driver’s education curriculum.
  • Provide instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle and on-road regulations.
  • Provide behind-the-wheel driving lessons for students.
  • Teach practical skills related to all aspects of driving.
  • Help students to develop confidence in their driving skills.
  • Identify and apply current state law and regulations applicable to the ownership and operation of a class D vehicle.
  • Submit and schedule required documents to Department of Motor Vehicles for students permit and road test.
  • Promote the importance of behind-the-wheel safety
  • Meet Department of Labor (DOL) and Company statistical goals for assigned area.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage classroom environment and classroom discipline for effective learning.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of competency-based instruction, computer management instruction, and cooperative-learning techniques.
  • Tailor facilitation to each student by using a variety of instructional approaches in recognition of students’ diverse learning needs and preferences.
  • Make recommendations for policy and curriculum revisions.
  • Participate in evaluations of student progress.
  • Provide appropriate personal and educational guidance to students.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency required. Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred and experience working with youth.
  • Other certification requirements may apply based on state driver’s license program laws and statutes.
