Description
Our client is seeking a Director of Human Resources & Payroll to lead all human resources and payroll functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, policy development, performance management, and payroll operations. This hands-on leadership role partners with management to support employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive organizational effectiveness across multiple locations.Â
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership
- Lead day-to-day HR operations and serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management.
- Develop and administer HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes.
- Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Oversee employment documentation, background checks, and new hire orientation.
Payroll & Benefits
- Administer and process payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations.
- Manage employee benefits programs, enrollments, and employee communications.
- Coordinate payroll reporting and maintain payroll records.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters.
- Conduct workplace investigations and advise managers on performance, corrective action, and employment decisions.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain required records and support audits and legal inquiries as needed.
Performance & Development
- Support performance management, employee development, and succession planning.
- Identify training opportunities and promote leadership development throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Experience overseeing payroll administration required.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, and payroll practices.
- Experience supporting multi-location operations preferred.
- Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and Microsoft Office systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proven ability to build relationships, exercise sound judgment, work independently, and balance strategic and day-to-day HR responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
