Job Summary

The Aftercare Aide at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School supports the supervision and care of students participating in the school's aftercare program. This position helps provide a safe, welcoming, and faith-centered environment where students can complete homework, engage in recreational activities, and build positive relationships with peers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise students during aftercare hours and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
Assist students with homework and provide age-appropriate support as needed.
Organize and monitor recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
Encourage positive behavior and respectful interactions among students.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming aftercare environment.
Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student needs and concerns.
Follow school policies and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, dependable, and able to effectively supervise groups of children.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.

Work Environment:

School-based setting with indoor and outdoor activities.
Requires standing, walking, bending, and active engagement with students throughout the program.
Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, attentiveness, and strong organizational skills.
