Host of Lifestyle Show

KTVI FOX 2 and KPLR 11 in St. Louis is searching for the next host for our hour-long Lifestyle Show airing weekdays on KTVI FOX 2.  The style of the show is segment and interview-based, highlighting local events and unique storytelling in St. Louis.  The skillset we are looking for will require MMJ abilities, strong ad-libbing and interview skills.  A college degree in broadcasting or related major is preferred with at least 3-5 years’ experience in TV.  Familiarity with newsroom systems such as ENPS and BitCentral puts you way ahead of the game.

The host is responsible for hosting a program, conducting in-studio segments, and participating in on-location segments as scheduled.

• Provide daily on camera contributions to a daily television show
• Assisting Producer with writing show segments
• Interviewing show guests/clients both in studio and on location in a non-scripted, fun, lifestyle show environment
• Knowledge of current events, popular culture, and compelling subjects making waves in St. Louis is key. 
• In addition to on-camera hosting of the show, ideal candidate should be competent in finding, shooting and editing engaging stories for the show
• Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with Producer
• Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations
• Assisting sales on presentations including meeting with clients
• Participating in events – either station sponsored or others – to promote the show
• The candidate should be able to plan and produce a quality show, through creative ideas, segments, interviews and production elements.
• Maintaining a show social media account and assist with all online content as directed by Producer
• Position will include contributions to other KTVI FOX 2 programs and platforms as needed.

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in film, photography, television, news, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Must be qualified MMJ. 
• Proven experience as host or on-air personality
• Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
• Must be energetic, positive and great in a team environment to craft an entertaining and unique product
• Must be highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• As an ambassador of KTVI FOX 2 and KPLR 11, connecting with the community and our viewers with the market are paramount
• Candidates must have unparalleled passion, work ethic and drive
