This role offers the opportunity to provide sophisticated counsel on complex corporate matters while working collaboratively with business leaders in a dynamic, innovative environment.
Together with the Bankās Legal & Ethics and Corporate Secretary team, the Senior Attorney will deliver expert legal guidance on general corporate matters and areas unique to Reserve Bank operations, including banking supervision, ethics, fiscal agency services, public information and record requests, and law enforcement. The ideal candidate brings a versatile skill set, exceptional judgment, and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Ā
Provide responsive counsel on day-to-dayĀ diverseĀ legal issuesĀ acrossĀ the organizationĀ
Ā
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and strategic initiativesĀ
Provide counsel on banking supervision matters, regulatory applicationsĀ (M&A), andĀ emerging financial servicesĀ legal issues
Monitor and advise on evolving regulatory requirements and their impact on business operationsĀ
Support administration of the Bankās public records disclosure policy
Advise on employment policies, compliance matters, and risk mitigation strategies
Lead drafting, negotiation, and review of diverse commercial agreements, including service contracts, RFPs, memoranda of understanding, NDAs, licenses, and vendor agreementsĀ
Partner with procurement teams to ensure compliant and efficient contracting processesĀ
Develop andĀ maintainĀ contract templates and playbooks
Provide counsel and training on employee ethics and compliance policies
Advise and train law enforcement leadership and officers on relevant legal issues
Design and deliver training programs on relevant legal topics for internal stakeholdersĀ

QualificationsĀ
Ā
Required:Ā
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolĀ
Active bar membership in Missouri or ability to obtain within 90 days of employmentĀ
Minimum 6-10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, governmentalĀ agencyĀ and/or in-house legal departmentĀ
Preferred:Ā
ExperienceĀ inĀ banking, financial services, or government/quasi-government entitiesĀ Ā
ProvenĀ track recordĀ drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreementsĀ
Strong understanding of employment law,Ā complianceĀ and risk managementĀ
Knowledge of the Federal Reserve System, banking operations, or financial regulationĀ
Experience with UCC Article 9, secured lending, or collateral mattersĀ
Background in government procurement or public-sector contractingĀ
