Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher at St. Cecilia School and Academy provides instructional and classroom support in the absence of the regular teacher. This position is responsible for maintaining a positive, safe, and faith-centered learning environment while delivering lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and supporting the academic, social, and spiritual development of students in accordance with the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Maintain a productive and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Supervise students throughout the school day and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Manage classroom behavior using established school policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction and assistance to students across various grade levels and subject areas as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and staff regarding classroom activities and student needs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, and classroom incidents as required.
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and St. Cecilia School and Academy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and instructional needs.
- Dependable, professional, and committed to student success.
- Commitment to supporting a faith-based educational environment.
