Job Description

Position SummaryĀ 

Responsible for developing andĀ maintainingĀ FIRĀ Elettromeccanica’sĀ (FIR)Ā trade compliance program to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import and export regulations. Acts as the primary trade compliance lead for theĀ FIRĀ business, partnering across functions to support operations and manage regulatory risk.Ā ReportsĀ directly toĀ theĀ NAHC/NCJ AmericasĀ CorporateĀ Trade ComplianceĀ GovernanceĀ teamĀ (ā€œNAHC/NCJ Americas TC Governance Teamā€)Ā to support enterprise risk management, controls, and audit readiness.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Serve as theĀ day-to-dayĀ primary point of contact forĀ operationalĀ trade compliance mattersĀ at FIR, advising leadership,Ā compliance, and business stakeholders.Ā 

  • Partner withĀ FIRĀ business teams (procurement,Ā logistics, finance, customer service, engineering, etc.) toĀ identify, assess and resolve import/export compliance risk.Ā 

  • Develop andĀ maintainĀ FIRĀ trade compliance policies, procedures, internal controls, audits, and training programs.Ā 

  • Partner withĀ the NAHC/NCJ Americas TC Governance TeamĀ to alignĀ FIRĀ compliance activities with corporate policies, risk frameworks, and internal control requirements.Ā 

  • Escalate significant compliance risks, audit findings, and potential regulatory exposureĀ for FIR to the NAHC/NCJ Americas TC Governance Team andĀ support remediation efforts.Ā 

  • OverseeĀ andĀ perform FIR’sĀ product classification (HTS, ECCN, Schedule B) andĀ country‑of‑originĀ determinations.Ā 

  • Establish and communicate approved customs valuation methodologiesĀ toĀ FIR teams and the NAHC/NCJ Americas TC Governance Team.Ā 

  • SupportĀ the corporateĀ Free Trade AgreementĀ team’sĀ qualificationĀ and annual campaignĀ effortsĀ viaĀ auditingĀ FIRĀ forĀ accurateĀ documentation andĀ coordinatingĀ with internalĀ businessĀ teamsĀ for delivery ofĀ requiredĀ documentation.Ā 

  • Conduct internal audits ofĀ FIR’sĀ import/export transactions, broker activity, and recordkeeping; assess control effectiveness.Ā 

  • ManageĀ FIR’sĀ denied party screening processes, including system administration, monitoring, training, and issue escalation.Ā 

  • Monitor regulatory changes (tariffs, forced labor, trade agreements),Ā communicate business impact andĀ identifyĀ risk mitigationĀ actionsĀ to FIR business leaders and cross functional teams.Ā 

  • Manage and reviewĀ FIR’sĀ customs broker performance and resolve escalated issuesĀ byĀ FIRsĀ business operations.Ā 

  • Coordinate responses to government inquiries, audits, and investigations (e.g., CBP, BIS), including CF28/CF29 responsesĀ for FIR.Ā 

  • EnsureĀ FIR’sĀ compliance with record retentionĀ U.S. legalĀ requirements.Ā 

  • DeliveryĀ ofĀ targeted trade compliance training to applicable employees.Ā 

  • Support supply chain security initiatives (e.g., CTPAT), as applicable.Ā

Required Skills & ExperienceĀ 

  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs, operations,Ā logisticsĀ complianceĀ orĀ a relatedĀ field.Ā 

  • WorkingĀ knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations, including HTS, ECCN, valuation, country of origin, FTAs, AD/CVD, Section 301, and denied party screening.Ā 

  • Experience executingĀ trade compliance programs, audits, and broker oversight.Ā 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk andĀ provideĀ practical guidance.Ā 

  • Proven ability to workĀ cross‑functionallyĀ in a matrixed environment.Ā 

  • Experience with audits, enforcement actions, and government inquiries.Ā 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ā 

  • Experience with trade compliance systems and data analysis tools (e.g.,Ā ACE,Ā SAP/GTS, e2open, Descartes, Integration Point, Excel).Ā 

  • U.S. residencyĀ required.Ā
