Regions Hospital has an exciting opportunity as a Home Medical Equipment (HME) Clinician II to join our team of CPAP Clinicians that work in collaboration with a Health Care Team in treating sleep breathing disorders. The right person for this opportunity will provide clerical functions in a clinical setting including:

This position will:

  • Collaborate with the Health Care Team in treating sleep breathing disorders.   
  • Assist the Home Medical Equipment Team in providing medical equipment to patients in an efficient manner while assisting those patients in becoming compliant with their therapy. 
  • Be responsible for instructing and educating patients regarding the use of sleep therapy products for the treatment of their Sleep Disorder Breathing. This will Include continuing education and follow-up for these patients. 
  • Maintain the inventory and ordering of supplies, cleaning, testing and maintaining all returned products as well as documentation to assure billing of equipment and supplies. 
  • Work closely with the Sleep Center, Pulmonary/Sleep Clinic and the other HME staff. 
  • This position will be partly supportive; however, there will be direct patient care.
  • Travel to more than one DME location within a given week if needed. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Work schedule: Monday – FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly) Day Shift, Occasional Saturday AM

Required Qualifications:

Education:       High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:     One year of experience in a healthcare setting required.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: BCLS certified

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:       Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy OR completion of a healthcare related training program preferred.

Experience:     Prefer two years as a respiratory therapist or CPAP Specialist with one year in a home care setting.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Registered with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
