The Human Resources Generalist position will support various functions of the HR department, including owning the New Employee Success program, recruitment and onboarding processes, delivering cross-functional training, ensuring HR compliance across the organization, and employee experience.
 

Position Duties

 

  • First point of contact for the HR department, working with employees across the organization with various requests / needs
  • Own the New Employee Success program, consisting of recruitment, pre-boarding, and onboarding processes
  • Post jobs, coordinate and complete interviews, extend employment offers, schedule onboarding, and complete in-person onboarding tasks to ensure positive employee experience
  • Maintain accurate, compliant electronic employee files
  • Complete job changes as requested by organizational leaders, at the top of the pay cycle
  • Provide general guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment law to employees across organizational levels
  • Coordinate in-person training sessions and performance appraisal processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Learn and complete payroll processing in a backup capacity
  • Participate in investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations issues
  • Stay current with employment trends, legislation, and 245D best practices
  • Support inclusivity at every level of the organization
  • Other cross-functional duties in or out of position scope, as necessary


Required Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree required; associate degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in Human Resources Generalist-level role
  • Previous experience in a 245D residential setting helpful
  • Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices
  • Certification via SHRM (CP or SCP) or HRCI (PHR, SPHR)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality via verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to function well in a multi-priority environment
  • Moderate to Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Extensive knowledge of Human Resources topics, including employment law and compliance


Physical, Behavioral, and Safety-Related Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing administrative and clerical tasks
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read and produce reports, correspondence, and data displayed on a computer screen
  • Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and during virtual meetings
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, presentation materials, or files)
  • Ability to move within the office environment to attend meetings, retrieve documents, and coordinate activities
  • Ability to maintain focus, attention to detail, and accuracy when performing repetitive or time-sensitive tasks
  • Ability to travel occasionally to off-site meetings, conferences, or corporate events as needed

 

Pay and Benefits while working at MN Care Services

 

  • Position is exempt from overtime earnings; compensation range $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Actual annual base offered will be based on combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.
