Job DetailsJob Location: ELA Lew Williams - St Petersburg, FL 33711Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 HourlyMULTIPLE JOB OPENINGS THROUGHOUT PINELLAS COUNTY Responsible for assisting in the overall supervision and management of a safe, educational and developmentally appropriate program(s) and according to R’Club’s mission, philosophy and standard of quality. Responsible for assisting in maintaining the facility, supervising staff and children, building relationships with the school staff and faculty, and interacting with parents and the community in a positive, professional manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assures the safety, welfare and well-being of the children who are in our care. Assures program compliance with all licensing, monitoring and agency requirements. Serves as "staff member in charge" as required by Director. Serves as staff member in ratio when necessary. Implements a program of activities in accordance with agency curriculum for a group of children. Maintains attendance records for a designated group of children. Establishes and maintains control and safety of an assigned group of children. Assures the orderliness of designated work area(s). Serves as an effective role model for the children. Assists food preparation, distribution and recordkeeping. Participates in parent contact and communication as assigned. Assists Director in coordinating, monitoring and supporting center staff. Assists in handling discipline problems. Assists in maintaining center paperwork and records. Assists Director in complying with central administration, contracted agencies and licensing requirements. Wears the appropriate clothing for position and Identifies safety hazards and immediately corrects or reports them to the appropriate party. Attends staff meetings, training events, workshops, etc. and maintains required level of training hours with required documentation. Incumbent must exercise considerable independence and judgment with occasional supervision under circumstances in which agency policy is either unclear or unwritten. Must pass DCF screening requirements and fulfill the State's training requirements. Must have experience in developing curriculum plans and overall program scheduling. Must exhibit effective communication and coordination of staff. Adheres to the procedure for reporting child abuse. Must maintain valid First Aid and Pediatric CPR certificates. Must present negative results on TB test and a fitness for job duties verification by a physician. Must also possess a valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance. Must be able to fill in for staff vacancies as needed, including possible split shifts. Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to staff, children, parents and business clients and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with R’Club’s mission and program goals. Must have the physical ability to lift children as needed or physically separate children as needed and participate in housekeeping responsibilities. Requires ability to work beyond scheduled time, be punctual and reliable and can be reached via telephone. AA degree or equivalent plus 6 ECE credits recognized by the Licensing Board plus one year teaching experience in an agency serving children and be at least 21 years of age. Half of the education requirement may be substituted with additional years of experience.
