Makes children feel welcome and comfortable. Assists in the planning and implementing of scheduled period(s) of activities, which are developmentally appropriate and ensures the safety and well being of the children as well as providing a model of quality.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Prepares and maintain lessons for classroom instruction. Maintains attendance records for a designated group of children and adheres to regular work and activity schedules. Assists in food preparation and distribution. Establishes and Maintains control and safety of an assigned group of children. Assures the orderliness and cleanliness of designated work area(s). Serves as an effective role model for the children by Assisting children in a way that develops the child’s role and initiative and Interacts in ways that help them learn. Assists children with feeding and bathroom needs i.e., changing diapers, helping child to restroom,feedchild, etc. Attends staff meetings, training events, workshops, etc. and Maintains required level of training hours with required documentation.     #JWB QualificationsREQUIREMENTS: Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with R’Club’s mission and program goals. Must have the physical ability to lift children as needed or physically separate children as needed and participate in housekeeping responsibilities. Requires ability to work beyond scheduled time, be punctual and reliable, can be reached via telephone and be able to take direction. Must adhere to the procedures for reporting child abuse. Important Notes: Requires passing of DCF criminal background screening, present a negative TB test result, pass pre-employment drug screening and fitness for duty exam. AA or BA in early childcare education or similar field. CDA certification, plus 6 ECE credits recognized by the PCLB with 1 year teaching experience in an agency serving children. Must be at least 21 years of age.
