Overview

We have a challenging and highly rewarding opportunity for a motivated Electrical Engineer to help grow our expanding MEP team in our St. Pete, Florida (FL) office. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • This position provides an opportunity to work on a variety of building projects that will ensure your success and growth in your career. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets locally and around the country.   

    • Design of electrical systems including low and medium voltage power distribution, stand-by generation, interior/exterior lighting for buildings, local area IT networks, access control, security, and fire alarm systems
    • Participate on project teams in an active production role
    • Preparation of project specifications
    • Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
    • Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
    • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
    • Perform quality work that promotes client retention
    • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, equipment load calculations, and connection diagrams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
  • Professional Engineer license preferred 
  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes
  • Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
  • Electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experience
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
