IMSolutions is seeking an Acquisition SME III to support a future opportunity with a federal agency anticipated to begin in September 2026.聽

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote/Hybrid as authorized by the Government and Company聽as requested by the government.

Position Summary

The Acquisition SME III serves as a senior-level acquisition authority and trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and strategic leadership across the full federal acquisition lifecycle. This position supports complex, high-risk, and high-visibility acquisition programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal regulations while advancing agency mission objectives.

The Acquisition SME III will provide expert assistance in acquisition planning, source selection, proposal evaluation, cost and price analysis, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout. This role requires extensive experience interpreting and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), developing acquisition policies and procedures, and advising senior government leadership on acquisition strategies and procurement solutions.

These functions include:

路聽Provide expert acquisition support throughout all phases of the federal acquisition lifecycle.聽

路聽Lead acquisition planning activities, including acquisition strategy development, market research, procurement forecasting, and solicitation planning.聽

路聽Advise government leadership on complex acquisition, procurement, and contracting matters.聽

路聽Conduct and oversee proposal evaluations, including technical, management, cost, price, and past performance assessments.聽

路聽Perform and review cost and price analyses to determine cost realism, reasonableness, and compliance with acquisition requirements.聽

路聽Support and advise source selection teams throughout the evaluation and award process.聽

路聽Develop acquisition plans, source selection plans, procurement strategies, and solicitation packages.聽

路聽Prepare acquisition-related policies, procedures, guidance documents, templates, and best practices.聽

路聽Interpret and apply the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and procurement policies to complex acquisition scenarios.聽

路聽Support contract administration activities, including modifications, performance monitoring, risk management, and compliance reviews.聽

路聽Assist in developing contractor performance metrics and evaluating contract performance.聽

路聽Lead and support contract closeout activities in accordance with applicable regulations and agency requirements.聽

路聽Conduct independent reviews and assessments of acquisition programs, policies, and procurement processes.聽

路聽Identify acquisition risks and develop mitigation strategies for complex procurement actions.聽

路聽Analyze acquisition operations and recommend process improvements to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance.聽

路聽Develop reports, executive briefings, white papers, issue papers, and acquisition recommendations for senior officials.聽

路聽Participate in acquisition review boards, procurement management reviews, and executive-level meetings.聽

路聽Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to acquisition teams and junior personnel.聽

路聽Support audits, Inspector General reviews, procurement management reviews, and compliance assessments.聽

路聽Research emerging acquisition trends, regulatory changes, and procurement innovations to support organizational objectives.聽

路聽Coordinate with contracting officers, program managers, legal counsel, financial personnel, and executive stakeholders.聽

路聽Support strategic sourcing, category management, and acquisition reform initiatives.聽

路聽Perform additional acquisition advisory and consulting services as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

路聽Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Acquisition Management, Public Administration, Contract Management, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.聽

路聽Fifteen (15) or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting federal acquisition, procurement, and contracting activities.聽

路聽Extensive experience supporting and advising on the full acquisition lifecycle.聽

路聽Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex, and high-visibility federal procurement programs.聽

路聽Expert-level knowledge of acquisition planning, source selection, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout.聽

路聽Comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition regulations.聽

路聽Proven experience advising executive leadership on acquisition strategy and procurement matters.聽

路聽Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.聽

路聽Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Required Skills:

路聽Expert knowledge of federal acquisition and contracting principles, policies, and procedures.聽

路聽Expert understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement best practices.聽

路聽Advanced acquisition planning and procurement strategy development expertise.聽

路聽Extensive experience leading complex source selection and proposal evaluation efforts.聽

路聽Expertise in cost and price analysis methodologies.聽

路聽Strong contract administration and contractor performance management capabilities.聽

路聽Ability to develop acquisition policies, guidance, and process improvement initiatives.聽

路聽Experience developing acquisition policies, procedures, templates, and governance documentation.聽

路聽Proven success supporting major procurements and complex contracting initiatives.聽

路聽Experience advising contracting officers, program managers, and senior government executives.聽

路聽Demonstrated ability to identify acquisition risks and develop strategic solutions.聽

路聽Ability to work independently while managing multiple complex projects and priorities.聽

路聽Ability to obtain and maintain any required government credentials or clearances as specified by the customer.
