Business Hours: M-F 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM   * Weekend work may be required occasionally based on production needs

Position Summary:  

The Production Supervisor oversees the daily production of Ookii Buns to ensure targets for output, quality, and food safety are consistently achieved. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules, staffing, and workflow to maximize efficiency while maintaining compliance with GMP, HACCP, and company standards. The Production Supervisor also collaborates with cross-functional teams, troubleshoots operational issues, and leads, trains, and supports production staff to ensure smooth and safe operations.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Manage daily production of Ookii Buns to ensure production targets, quality, and food safety requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, labor availability, and production efficiency.
  • Coordinate staffing and workflow to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure recipes, processing procedures, and production specifications are followed according to R&D instructions.
  • Monitor production performance and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize delays.
  • Maintain FIFO and lot code traceability throughout the production process.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure raw materials and packaging are available for scheduled production.
  • Work closely with QA to ensure GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements are consistently followed.
  • Train, coach, and supervise production team members while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain production records, inventory records, and production schedules using Microsoft Excel and other company systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • English proficiency in both oral and written
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in a bakery, commercial baking, or similar food manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing daily production operations and schedules
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas to develop and maintain production schedules and accurately track production data
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, sanitation, and FIFO principles
  • Actively listens and communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, adapting to the audience as needed
  • Strong leadership skills to lead team and motivate employees
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work onsite (remote work is not an option)
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time the employment begins and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization.



Preferred

  • Experience producing bread, buns, or baked products in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in USDA/FSMA regulated food manufacturing.
  • Experience with inventory control and production planning
  • ERP proficiency
  • Proficiency in Spanish

Work Environment and Workplace:

  • Work is primarily performed in a indoor environment, including kitchen, manufacturing, and warehouse settings
  • The role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, regular exposure to conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and confined spaces depending on job duties
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high
  • The work environments may include exposure to food ingredients and cleaning agents

Physical Requirement:

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to:


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or move for extended periods
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements to operate food processing, packaging, or sanitation equipment
  • Safely handle raw materials, ingredients, finished products, and packaging materials in a production setting
  • Lift, transport, maneuver materials or equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently to access materials, equipment, and work areas
  • Maintain visual acuity to read labels, monitors, safety indicators, and production instructions
  • Safely operate motorized vehicles or equipment within the facility as needed
  • Communicate effectively using speech, written language, hearing, and visual observation in person, by phone, and via virtual platforms

This position may require domestic travel including by air and car
