Primary Purpose   The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Facilities Director in overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of the facility. This position provides direct oversight of maintenance operations within the Fitness and Rinks areas and helps ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for members, employees, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Support the Facilities Director in all areas of facility operations and maintenance. Conduct a minimum of two comprehensive facility walk-throughs during each shift to identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, or operational concerns. Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related emergencies, crises, and urgent operational issues when assigned. Assist with the management and ongoing use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Effectively utilize internal staff, service contractors, and emergency contacts to address urgent repairs and operational issues. Develop, maintain, and oversee preventive maintenance plans for rink, fitness, and related facility equipment, ensuring scheduled work is completed and properly documented. Confirm the proper operation of major mechanical and building systems through communication with staff and visual inspections, including: Chiller plants Ice rink compressors Pool pumps and filtration systems Building management systems Fire alarms and sprinkler systems HVAC, electrical, and other critical equipment Inspect common and exterior areas that fall outside individual venues, including locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, entrances, and surrounding grounds. Regularly visit each sports venue and communicate with venue managers regarding repairs, safety concerns, and operational issues. Respond promptly and appropriately to facility emergencies. Check in with housekeeping supervisors to ensure cleaning schedules and task lists are being completed efficiently and to established standards. Assist the Facilities Director with recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and employee development. Supervise the Rinks Manager and support the safe and efficient operation of rink drivers, rink staff, maintenance employees, and housekeeping personnel. Promote strong communication and collaboration across departments to support a consistent ONE TEAM approach to facility operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Full-Time, about 40 hours per week. One weekend day required. Schedule may vary based on business needs. Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experienceQualificationsQualifications and Key Performance Factors Minimum of two years of experience in facility operations, maintenance, engineering, construction, or a related field. Working knowledge of building systems, including building management systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire protection. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot operational and maintenance issues. Strong crisis-management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and hospitality skills. Proficiency with computers and facility-management technology. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively supervise employees, contractors, and service providers. Creative and resourceful approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with facility leadership and operational teams.
