We are seeking a full-time ObGyn Hospitalist Physician to join our team of highly skilled experts within Stamford Hospital’s main campus in Stamford, Connecticut. Our OB Hospitalists at Stamford Hospital provide care and oversight for patients presenting to Labor & Delivery or the Emergency Department that are from the clinic, present without an attending physician or retained assignment from a private physician.  They provide supervision, consultation, and teaching to residents. The incumbent will also provide medical consultation as necessary inpatient coverage of obstetrics and gynecologic patients on other services.

 

In this role, you will support medical staff utilization management and clinical effectiveness efforts, enhance the quality and safety of in-patient care, complete care of patients admitted to the Hospitalist service.

 

Schedule: 14 12-hour shifts per month. Mix of days and nights, 7A-7P and 7P-7A. No call.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical care for laboring patients, acting as the attending of record for patients admitted from the clinic and assuming the role as the attending of record when requested by community physician

     

  • Assists in resident teaching 
  • Provides consultation and emergency coverage for patients on any unit with acute obstetrical or gynecological concerns.
  • Performs emergent GYN surgeries
  • Acts as backup for midwifes

 

Qualifications:

  • MD License required.

  • Board eligible or board certified required in OB/GYN.
  • EFM certification following hire.
