This role is based in Stamford, CT and will work a hybrid schedule. Hybrid remote work must be based out of New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.

The Senior Systems Engineer I is part of a team responsible for the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of the enterprise infrastructure environment. This environment consists of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS & DHCP, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, enterprise storage platforms, file services, enterprise backup systems, identity and access systems, Cisco UCS server hardware, and Pure Storage platforms.
Duties include performing upgrades and maintenance of these systems; monitoring hardware, operating system and application health; troubleshooting complex issues; and assisting Clinical and Financial Applications teams with the design and implementation of infrastructure supporting new or existing applications. This role also contributes to infrastructure standards, automation, and platform optimization across the enterprise.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
- Design, plan and implement supported versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, enterprise storage platforms, and supporting infrastructure systems based on organizational needs and product lifecycle.
- Administer and maintain the physical and virtual server environment, including VMware clusters and Cisco UCS infrastructure, by proactively monitoring system health and resolving hardware, operating system, and application issues.
- Provide support for enterprise storage platforms, including Pure Storage FlashArray environments, ensuring proper provisioning, performance optimization, capacity planning, and data lifecycle management.
- Support and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments, including provisioning services, profile management, and performance tuning to ensure a consistent and reliable end user experience.
- Maintain and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy to ensure secure, highly available identity and core infrastructure services.
- Review and apply operating system and infrastructure security patches in accordance with established standards and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution, supporting replication technologies and ensuring infrastructure platforms meet defined recovery objectives.
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell and other scripting tools to improve operational efficiency and standardize infrastructure processes.
- Provide infrastructure support for enterprise applications by participating in planning sessions, gathering technical requirements, coordinating with vendors, and provisioning required resources.
- Monitor system performance and respond to alerts and incidents, taking ownership of issues and driving resolution across internal teams and external vendors.
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for system configurations, architecture, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and perform work during scheduled maintenance windows and after hours as required.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of infrastructure standards and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Â
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi in a production environment
Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including PVS and profile management
Experience with enterprise storage platforms, preferably Pure Storage FlashArray
Familiarity with Cisco UCS or similar enterprise compute platforms
Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
Experience with system monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning
Understanding of infrastructure security best practices and patch management
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical environments, preferably in healthcare
Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and virtualization layers
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred:
VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, or storage-related certifications
Experience with disaster recovery technologies such as Zerto
Experience with large-scale file services or DFS environments
Exposure to identity and access management integrations or security platforms
