ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Perform physical examinations and triage patients upon arrival
- Obtain thorough patient histories from pet owners
- Collect and process diagnostic samples including blood, urine, and cytology
- Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV, SQ, and IM routes
- Induce and monitor anesthesia during surgical and dental procedures
- Assist veterinarians with surgeries, treatments, and advanced procedures
- Operate and interpret diagnostic equipment including digital radiography and ultrasound
- Perform dental cleanings and assist with oral health procedures
- Monitor and manage patient recovery post-anesthesia and post-surgery
- Maintain accurate medical records in practice management software
- Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care instructions
- Ensure proper handling, restraint, and comfort of all patients
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical environment
Qualifications.
- Active Veterinary Technician license (LVT, CVT, or RVT) required
- Previous clinical experience as a licensed technician preferred
