MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Evaluation-Obtains pertinent medical and social history. Performs thorough and accurate psychological, neuro-psychological, and neuro-behavioral evaluations using accepted techniques and standardized testing as appropriate. Interprets results of evaluations to measure functional status.  Determines measurable short and long term goals and designs an appropriate treatment program. Considers discharge options at time of initial evaluation. 

2.   Treatment-Implements intervention as outlined in the initial evaluation. Modifies treatment as necessary, updates goals and re-evaluates discharge plans throughout the course of treatment. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of treatment techniques and applies appropriately. Treatment may include family intervention. Communicates/interacts with appropriate team members.

3.   Documentation-Clinical documentation is timely, objective and complete. Administrative documentation including but not limited to billing and outcome measures is accurate and timely.

4.   Education-Assumes personal responsibility for continuing education and professional development. Provides education to staff, system employees and community including at least one presentation annually.  Acts as psychology consultant to Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, leading a regularly scheduled class on behavioral and cognitive coping skills as well as recommending individual treatment as appropriate. 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.  Must have a Connecticut License.  Requires a good working knowledge of the principles and techniques of psychology rehabilitation.   Must be skilled in neuro-psychological testing and interpretation as well as various counseling techniques.
