Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop is Currently Seeking an Experienced and Motivated Dietary Aide to Join our Team!

Our Dietary Department plays a vital role in patient care by preparing safe, nutritious, and well-balanced meals in accordance with clinical guidelines and dietary needs. Position Summary:

• Assist in stocking, preparation, serving, presentation, and documentation of the food according to established policies and procedures
• Serve special diets when applicable as ordered by the physician and approved by the dietitian
• Ensure patients receive the appropriate food according to physician order and menus established
• Ensure that any meals being delivered to and from FBH Bastrop are properly placed in the warming containers and food temperatures are within regulatory guidelines when served on-site and/or when departing
• Assist cooks in ensuring recipes maintain integrity with the nutritional content designated on the menu
• Deliver snacks or other appropriate nutritional needs for patients when applicable
• Assist in monitoring the temperature of the refrigerators, warming cart and other equipment used in the dining rooms
• Assist in labeling/dating of items delivered and stocked prior to prep.
• Assist with cleanliness of equipment and serving area according to procedures and regulatory standards
• Assist patients with beverages and food choices, when applicable
• Works cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary team and contributes to a positive work environment.
• Participates in rotation schedule of evenings, weekend, and holidays
• Attend all staff meetings and training as requested by supervisor
• Attend daily shift report when reporting to duty
• Receive and participate in the hospital’s quality improvement initiatives when applicable
• Serve on projects as delegated

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or experience required:

Education:

• High school or the equivalency is preferred.
  

License: 

• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)
• "ServSafe" certification is preferred upon hire. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)

Experience:  

• Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding food preparation and serving of food.
