The Nursing Department of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is seeking full time Nursing Faculty. The successful candidate will teach in the traditional on campus program and the hybrid ABSN nursing program.   

Responsibilities can include in person didactic or clinical teaching, oversight of adjunct clinical faculty, participation in the on campus immersions/ simulations, remediation of students in the didactic or clinical setting and working with the On Campus Undergraduate Program Director or the ABSN Program Director on student concerns. Faculty may teach across programs to fulfill student needs.     

The successful candidate will have at least a MSN, five years of nursing experience and one to two years experience in nursing education programs or precepting nursing students or new employees. Maine RN license or a Compact license is required. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in undergraduate BSN programs.     

Candidates must also have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; engage in student centered learning practices; be able to work with teams and creatively problem solve; and be willing to support the mission and core values of Saint Joseph’s College. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    MSN

    Minimum 5 years clinical experience in nursing

    Unencumbered RN license in Maine or a Compact License

    Demonstrates an appreciation for the needs of the novice student nurse

    Excellent communication skills

    Positive attitude

    Flexibility

    Experience precepting or orienting staff nurses OR

    Experience supervising nursing students in the clinical setting
