Isolatek International, the industry leader in the marketing and manufacturing of passive fire protection materials for the construction industry has an immediate opening for a full-time Shift Supervisor in our Operations Department at its corporate headquarters in Stanhope, NJ.

The Shift Supervisor's primary role will be to coordinate and supervise the activities and employees of the  Manufacturing Plant, Warehouse Operations and personnel as well as the Maintenance Department and their personnel.  Establish and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.  Enforce established company Safety, Quality, Operations and Human Resource policies.

Shift: 11am-8pm or 12 noon - 9pm

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts training and coaching of Plant and Warehouse personnel using established SOP’s, with the prime focus always being Safety.
  • Prepares, publishes, reviews and maintains SOP’s as necessary.
  • Assigns workstation assignments and rotations.
  • Coordinates line start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
  • Schedules and conducts shift Safety and Quality meetings.
  • Responsible for quality control of products produced during shift.  This includes proper testing and screening of raw materials, line set-up and testing of line produced goods.  Identification and management of rejected goods.
  • Monitors inventories to maintain needed stocks of raw materials and finished goods to support production and customer demands.
  • Maintains payroll and attendance documents and reports.
  • Maintains Safety and Training records.
  • Enters data into computer database.
  • Completes shift paperwork and publishes Production Reports.
  • Directs maintenance personnel in their daily duties of safely maintaining or repairing the facility, the plant and process equipment.
  • Responsible for quality control of all work.
  • Manages Preventive Maintenance Program, activity logs and other documentation as required by the company or ISO plan.
  • Constantly evaluates what activities need to be implemented to eliminate reactive maintenance and promote preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains inventory of tools, spares and other materials as needed for the Maintenance Department to support plant operations.
  • Assists in planning and coordination of projects.
  • Assists in all areas of Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workplace.
  • Conducts Employee Performance Reviews
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by Plant Manager.

Experience: 

 A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and PLC controlled systems is highly desirable.


The base salary anticipated is $70,000-$90,000 per year for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, actual compensation may vary and will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to, the applicant’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors. Isolatek International reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. An employee may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on company and personal performance.
