History:

Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.  


POSITION PURPOSE    

The scheduling clerk for the Rural Health Clinic manages multi-line telephone system and is responsible to meet the customer's needs through scheduling of appointments, managing messages, and handling customer requests in an efficient and timely manner. The scheduler is responsible for collecting essential patient and payor information needed to secure appointments. Responsible to maintain provider patient schedules; may block schedules and reschedule patients as necessary. Informs patients of business office policies related to copay and financial obligations when making appointments. Assists with other clerical duties to support the rural health clinic.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent


Licenses/Certificates:

Not required    


Experience:

One (1) year of office experience in a medical setting preferred.
