We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team that will provide State College with the best customer service and gaming experience possible! Our current opening is for an Executive Sous Chef. This position will report directly to the Executive Chef, and will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in, and being fully responsible for managing the food production area.
  • Training and supervision of food production personnel.
  • Coordinating activities at different food production areas as required by the director.
  • Monitoring food costs and assists with requisition of daily food purchase orders.
  • Ensuring that the Production Department maintains the standards set by the Local and State Health Department Codes.
  • Evaluating those personnel directly supervised in accordance with personnel guidelines.
  • Communicating with all Sous Chef's and line employees on daily needs, requirements and expectations.
  • Monitoring payroll cost for food production area as required.
  • Promoting outstanding customer relations.


The successful candidate for this role will possess the following: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Culinary Certificate preferred
  • Three (3) years experience in a Sous Chef role or managing kitchen employees. 
  • Strong leadership values with the ability to work hands on with the team. 
  • Must be willing to act as a working manager alongside the kitchen staff. 
  • Previous experience training and mentoring new employees and managers.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Casino employees may be required to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License. Cost of license is covered by Happy Valley Casino.
