Best Line Equipment is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team at our State College, PA facility. We are open to candidates interested in either Road Service or Shop Service, depending on experience, skill set, and career goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, working with a variety of equipment, and solving challenging mechanical and electrical issues. Whether you prefer the independence of working in the field or the resources of a professional shop environment, we have an opportunity for you.

What You'll Do:

As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, service, inspect, and maintain a wide variety of equipment, including:

  • Construction equipment
  • Compact and heavy equipment
  • Landscape and ground maintenance equipment
  • Aerial equipment
  • Industrial equipment
  • Agricultural equipment
  • Fleet equipment

Road Service Technicians:

Road Service Technicians provide mobile service throughout Centre County and surrounding areas. You will travel directly to customer jobsites and locations to diagnose and repair equipment in the field.

You will have the tools, technology, vehicle, and resources needed to perform your work efficiently and independently.

Shop Service Technicians:

We're looking for technicians who can diagnose problems, think critically, and get equipment back to work. Ideal candidates will have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a comparable field, such as heavy equipment, construction equipment, diesel, automotive, truck, industrial, or agricultural equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience with DC electrical systems, hydraulics, combustion/diesel systems, or related technologies.
  • The ability to read and work from schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use diagnostic software and electronic service resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a dependable member of a service team.
  • Experience with warranty claims is a plus.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent industry experience.

Job Type: Full-time

  • Approximately 40–50 hours per week
  • Approximately 1 Saturday per month
  • Limited on-call responsibilities may apply depending on position and service needs

 

Estimated annual compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 per year (dependent upon experience)
