POSITION SUMMARY
Performs routine duties in the Operating Room area which assist the nursing staff in caring for patients.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
- Nursing assistant experience preferred.
- Operating room experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks carefully and properly.
- Address patient with appropriate title or agreed to by patient.
- Listens and appropriately responds to patient/significant other, staff, and physician concerns. Communicates nonverbally a calm, caring attitude.
- Communicates appropriately pertinent information concerning the patient, equipment, instruments and supplies.
License/Certification/Registration:
- Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives general supervision from the Director, Unit Manager and Clinical Supervisor. The amount of supervision required is directly proportionate to the complexity of the task being performed.
