Job Summary:
The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the peanut shelling process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in the facility. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading and unloading peanuts from conveyors, bins, and processing equipment.
- Monitor and remove debris or foreign materials from the peanut shelling line.
- Perform general cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Support machine operators by supplying raw materials and handling finished products.
- Stack, palletize, and move products to designated areas as needed.
- Follow safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as clearing jams or reporting equipment issues.
- Comply with company policies, HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or food processing is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Basic communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Fast-paced production environment with strict safety and hygiene requirements.
- Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
