The responsibility of the Groundskeeper is to maintain the grounds of Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating, supervising and participating in the ground maintenance work of the property.
- Assist in assigning duties to ground crew, participates in those duties and inspects completion of work.
- Assist in any emergency as needed.
- Observes all health hazards and warnings.
- Operate equipment, such as mowers, edgers, tractors and the like.
- Comply with directions and instructions from the supervisor and perform other tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of good business practices and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
- Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.
- Meets attendance standards and comply with notification procedures for absences.
- Provides complete and accurate information on the conduct of business.
- Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of business.
- Comply with policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Follows the daily work schedule and makes good use of time.

- Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration.
- This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
- Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to communicate verbally effectively.
- Maintain emotional control under stress that may be required.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Willing to train
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills.
Language Skills:
Must be able to speak and understand English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
- Frequently stooping, reaching.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
- Work with others in close spaces.
- Moderate to high noise levels.
- Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
Pay Range
USD $17.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.
