Description

Works under supervision of Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, consistent with hospital policies and procedures, standards of practice, and regulations as directed by the Rehab Director of Iredell Memorial Hospital. Administers occupational therapy treatment programs to facilitate rehabilitation of physically disabled patients and to maximize function and independence in accordance with Occupational Therapist plan of care. Has full access to patient health information.


Shift: M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, rotating holidays

Requirements

  • Current licensure in NC as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) or state licensure examination eligible
  • CPR certification required.  If not currently certified must complete upon hire.
  • Successful completion of a competency based orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the OTA will be working, and addresses the growth and development needs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Work requires physical mobility and manual dexterity.
  • Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
