Description

The Doffer is responsible for removing finished rolls from the production line, packaging products to customer specifications, and supporting safe, efficient production. This position works closely with the production team to maintain quality standards and meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Remove finished rolls from the production line.
  • Package and label products according to customer specifications.
  • Inspect fiber and finished products for quality.
  • Follow production schedules, work orders, and operating procedures.
  • Remove scrap and waste materials and dispose of them in designated areas.
  • Stock and use tube cores, packaging materials, and other production supplies.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, Lead Operators, and Shift Managers.
  • Perform other production duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Basic computer skills for entering production information.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable with good attendance and a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently bend, reach, stoop, and lift.
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, airborne fibers, vibration, and moving machinery.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) that will be provided by the company.
