About the Job

Our Maintenance Mechanics repair rotary kilns, grinding mills, large elevators, pumps, crushers, industrial conveyor belts and other heavy industrial equipment to support the plants and underground mine. The maintenance mechanics assess equipment failure, determine causes, and make necessary repairs.

  • Safely and efficiently perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and other equipment.
  • Identify equipment operational problems and causes of breakdowns and make repairs to same.
  • Perform and document workplace and mobile equipment inspections.
  • Train and utilize a computer and related software for creating work requests, entering time to work orders, looking up spare parts and inventory.
  • General knowledge and application of plant safety rules with emphasis on lockout procedures, risk awareness, moving conveyors, confined space procedures, and use of PPE.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must successfully demonstrate maintenance and practical skills as determined by written and hands-on testing, including welding and rigging
  • Two years industrial maintenance experience
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree, certification or equivalent
