About the Job
Â
The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations while meeting DOT and company standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Complete and document DOT inspections, repair orders, and maintenance records accurately.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems on fleet equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and perform after-hours or emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Work closely with supervisors, dispatchers, and team members to support operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory management of parts and maintenance supplies.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools required for the position.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work overtime, varying shifts, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
- Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
- Experience performing mechanical and electrical repairs on over-the-road tractors and trailers.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize work assignments.
- Experience training or mentoring others.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and industrial environments.
