About the Job

The Production Supervisor leads front-line plant operations by supervising production teams, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

  • Supervise, assign, and verify daily work of hourly production employees
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations
  • Monitor performance (attendance, safety, efficiency) and provide coaching, mentoring, and discipline as needed
  • Drive productivity, quality, and waste reduction across plant processes
  • Support environmental compliance and maintain production reliability
  • Coordinate daily production, maintenance scheduling, and inventory management
  • Foster positive employee relations and build a high-performing team environment
  • Track and report on production, safety, and operational performance metrics

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead teams and achieve results through others
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college coursework
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and production compliance standards
  • Ability to learn plant systems and processes and use tracking/reporting tools
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., supervisory certificate, First Aid/CPR, Method 22)
