POSITION SUMMARY

General commercial appliance repair and maintenance including knowledge of gas and electric appliances, steam kettles, fryers, ovens and gas ranges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintain a safe working environment and practice a safe work philosophy

  • Monitor base area and on mountain kitchens for 100% operation and follow through with preventive procedures

  • General repair and maintenance of company commercial kitchen appliances.

  • Use of tools such as electrical testers, amp probes, chart recorders, power and pneumatic tools, and other tools related to the building or maintenance fields

  • Purchase parts as needed subject to policy

  • Maintenance on company owned food & beverage equipment, which could include refrigeration, propane appliances, electrical ovens, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess knowledge concepts of materials, equipment, and tools characteristic to facilities maintenance

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with commercial kitchen equipment maintence, required

  • Knowledge of food & beverage equipment, refrigeration maintenance and repair and plumbing, preferred

  • Must be available for home telephone contact after hours in case of a facility orientated emergency

  • Must follow instructions to perform tasks as delegated by the supervisor

  • Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check

  • Must have valid driver’s license without limitations or restrictions and meet company’s insurability standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.

Steamboat area base salary range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age

  • Must be able to climb ladders or scaffolding in cold and icy conditions

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis (equipment parts such as motors)

  • Must be able to bend, climb under equipment, lift, push, pull large equipment such as ovens and dishwashers; able to work in confined areas

  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at a minimum intermediate level

  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions

  • Must be able to safely operate company motor vehicles

  • Must successfully complete a background check

  • Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current Driver’s license, a successful motor vehicle record, background check is required.

  • Must be able to travel around the mountain in inclement conditions
