JOB DESCRIPTION

In the tax area, UHY Advisors’ Resource Solutions Group provides co-sourcing, or loan staffing, services for our clients.  We focus primarily on tax compliance (federal, state, and international), tax accounting (FAS 109 & FIN 48) and special projects (i.e. audit defense, SOX 404).  Interested in becoming a Corporate Tax Consultant? Our consultants are hired on as W-2 UHY employees and eligible for full benefits, accrued PTO, paid holidays and more. Great work / life balance (40 to 45 hours per week is the norm) is also included.

The Corporate Tax Consultant is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and providing tax-related guidance to clients or company management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including timely filings.
• Research and stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations.
• Provide tax planning advice and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Assist with audits, tax notices, and disputes with tax authorities.
• Maintain accurate and organized tax records.
• Review financial statements for tax implications.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., accounting or finance) to ensure tax considerations are integrated into financial decisions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or EA certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Tax Accountant or in a similar tax-related role.
• Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and filing procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in one or more of the following key areas (strongly preferred):
  • International tax compliance & research.
  • Sales/use tax compliance & research.
  • Property tax compliance & research.
