Position Summary

Conti LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator to join our Industrial Electrical Group. This individual will play a key leadership role in both preconstruction and project execution by developing accurate cost estimates, managing project budgets and schedules, coordinating project resources, and ensuring successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical construction, estimating, project management, and client relationship management. This position offers the opportunity to lead projects from conceptual budgeting and estimating through construction and project closeout.

Essential Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare complete and accurate estimates by reviewing project drawings, specifications, bid documents, and customer requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
  • Analyze project scope and identify potential risks, gaps, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Resolve discrepancies by gathering and analyzing information from project stakeholders.
  • Prepare competitive proposals and bid packages utilizing estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, or similar platforms.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, and project requirements to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness.

Project Management

  • Manage industrial electrical projects from award through completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and staffing plans.
  • Identify required resources and assign responsibilities to project team members.
  • Coordinate activities between clients, contractors, suppliers, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance against established budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Create action plans to address schedule delays, cost impacts, and project risks.
  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates to management and clients.
  • Review contracts, construction plans, specifications, and scope documents to ensure successful execution.

Client Relations & Leadership

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout project execution.
  • Lead project meetings and facilitate communication between office and field teams.
  • Interact effectively with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Support business development efforts through excellent customer service and professional project leadership.

Change Management & Project Controls

  • Evaluate change requests and determine project impacts related to cost and schedule.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders.
  • Secure customer approvals for scope modifications.
  • Monitor labor productivity, procurement activities, and project profitability.
  • Implement corrective actions when projects deviate from established goals.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure quality control of all project documentation, drawings, specifications, and PDF packages distributed to project teams.
  • Promote and support Conti’s commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Project Management and Estimating experience.
  • Experience managing industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, construction practices, project controls, and budgeting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.
  • Experience using estimating software such as:
    • Accubid
    • McCormick
    • Bluebeam
    • Similar estimating platforms
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within industrial manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, warehousing, distribution, or process facilities.
  • Experience with:
    • Medium-voltage power distribution systems
    • Industrial power systems
    • Controls and instrumentation
    • Manufacturing facility infrastructure
    • Electrical construction projects ranging from service work to large capital installations
  • Scheduling experience utilizing Microsoft Project.
  • PMP Certification, Journeyman Electrician License, Master Electrician License, or related industry certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk active construction sites and navigate rough or uneven terrain.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots.
  • Ability to work in office, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Ability to regularly operate a computer, calculator, copier, scanner, and related office equipment.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office, manufacturing facility, and construction site environments.
  • Frequent communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Travel required up to 50% based on project and client needs.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial work environments during site visits.
