In this position...
Lean team manager to support the Ford plants mainly powertrain in their lean transformation journey with continuous improvement and waste elimination improving safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
What you'll do...
- Collaborate with the executive level Manufacturing Transformation Council, Global Ford Production System Teams, Skill Team Leads and SMEs on attaining alignment, consensus, and integration of our Factory of Tomorrow strategies and vision.
- Work with Manufacturing Technology Development Teams, skill teams, and FPS Coaches on the development and integration of FPS related technologies.
- Develop, document, and communicate a global Ford Production System (FPS) vision, related strategy and standards aligned with manufacturing objectives that directly affect manufacturing metrics.
- Manage and facilitate manufacturing activities: meetings, collaboration events, presentations, and follow-upÂ
- Benchmark proven processes for replication (internal and external) through data gathering and analysis
- Integrate operational feedback from Regional FPS Coaches into lean strategy development, adjustments, continuous improvement opportunities, and cultural application
- Teach / Coach /Mentor lean strategies, standards, methods, process, and tools to all levels within manufacturing globally (Leaders as Teachers), serving as Subject Matter Expert of our Ford Production System
- Engage various Executives, Skill Teams, and other Stakeholders to understand positions, issues, and concerns to gain consensus on FPS strategies
- Facilitate various forums (meetings, learning, 1:1s) to further articulate, evolve, implement, and confirm lean strategies
- Deliver continuous improvement through lean strategies and innovation
- Drive/coach and teach the various problem solving tools driving towards excellence
You'll have...
- 10 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Experience in manufacturing operations, with proficient knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing principles, processes, and techniques
- Experience and knowledge within a Lean Manufacturing Production System
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strategic thinker – Ability to define a successful future state with an understanding of the fundamental drivers and challenging conventional thinking conceptually, imaginatively, systematically, and opportunistically
- Project Management Experience: Planning, working with others, coordinating activities, and ensuring completion of projects (objectives)
- Strong leadership, oral / written communication, teaching and mentoring skills
- Solid team player, flexible in approach and self-starting
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to:
- Interface at different levels in the organization and with powertrain region teams
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams consisting of experts from various disciplines within the company, leveraging their strengths to deliver project objectives
- Ability to acquire and analyze data using quantitative methods to anticipate, recognize and resolve problems including:
- Monitoring, measuring, and communicating conformance to standards and make abnormalities evident
- facilitating process improvements and ensure sustainability of any improvements
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
