As part of our exciting growth, we are hiring a Lead Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician based out of Sterling, VA.
The Lead Maintenance Technician plays a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance operations within the Aligned Data Center, combining hands-on expertise with supervisory responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Program Manager, this position requires a blend of technical proficiency, leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of critical facility systems.
As a key member of the operations team, the Lead Maintenance Technician will lead by example, providing guidance, training, and support to maintenance technicians while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Support:
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Program Manager to develop and implement training programs for maintenance technicians, covering areas such as equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate and manage team schedules, including shift assignments, PTO, and shift swaps, in collaboration with the Maintenance Program Manager and Facility Manager.
- Oversee and prioritize all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and general repairs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to maintenance schedules.
Technical Assistance:
- Provide hands-on support for maintenance tasks, including but not limited to HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, fire detection, and suppression systems.
- Perform internal audits of the maintenance program to ensure proper adherence to the manufacturer's O&M manuals.
- Assist in the coordination of construction projects and activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project timelines.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory levels, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including equipment failures and customer concerns, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to strict compliance with governing MOP/SOP/ERP procedures, and maintenance work instructions.
- Monitor building conditions and tour property periodically during scheduled shifts to ensure safe and well-maintained conditions.
Emergency Response:
- Respond immediately to emergency situations such as fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc., following established protocols and procedures.
- Develop and communicate improvement processes to ensure continuous improvement and innovation in emergency response procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in relevant fields preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, with demonstrated expertise in critical facility systems.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team of maintenance technicians.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Hourly Pay Range: $48.00-54.00/hr, plus quarterly bonuses
