JOB/ROLE DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Mold Cleaner GRADE: 12

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing FLSA STATUS (US only): Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Tool Room Manager DATE OF LAST UPDATE: 12/12/19 

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Mold Cleaner is responsible for plastic injection mold maintenance including disassembly, cleaning, insert changes, and basic repairs. This role involves ensuring mold readiness according to production schedules and maintaining accurate maintenance records. This is a technical, non-exempt position that receives general work directions from the Tool Room Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain plastic injection molds and document maintenance activities according to established Anderson Power standards.
  • Ensure tool readiness according to the production schedule.
  • Responsible for communicating problems and issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Fabricate/machine replacement parts for repair of equipment.
  • Estimate mold fabrication/mold repair items as required.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping practices and mold storage requirements.
  • Utilize drawings and inspection equipment as necessary.
  • Participate as a member of a Project Team as required.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 2 or more years of experience with injection mold functionality, disassembly, and maintenance.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of conventional machinery. 
  • Must own a complete set of tools required for mold maintenance. 
  • Ability to understand basic work directions/specifications verbally and in writing. 
  • Must be able to work as member of a team. 
  • Moderate computer proficiency.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to use measuring/hand tools and safety equipment.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires repetitive reaching, stretching, lifting, and twisting.
  • Working conditions include some dust, dirt, noise, with restricted workspaces, but not to the point of being objectionable.
