Hospice Director, RN:  Work with our amazing Hospice staff to provide efficient and effective delivery of hospice care to our patients. Helps to ensure the Hospice program meets standards of quality and contributes to the total organization and philosophy.

A few must-haves for this position

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice as an RN in the state of MN.  License is active and in good standing.
  • Prefer at least two (2) years of experience as a hospice RN and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Able to travel within geographic area serviced by the office. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
  • CPR Certification

Some functions of what you would do in this role:

  • Plans, assigns and monitors the work of Hospice staff.
  • Hires, supervises, evaluates, motivates and develops professional and paraprofessional employees; oversees scheduling of assigned staff for maximum productivity.
  • Creates and assists in the development of recruitment strategies and orientation/on-boarding of new staff.
  • Leads Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings and actively participates in facility and team meetings as needed and requested.
  • Contributes to business growth by presenting information, education and support to external customers and potential customers as requested, either directly or through coaching staff members.
  • Manages Hospice case load as business needs may require.
  • Provides educational opportunities and in-services to hospice employees to meet quality standards, agency policy and all regulatory standards. Advises employees of any changes or updates in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
