Essential Duties:
Â
1. Identify at-risk students:
- Review and analyze state-wide and local assessment data, including attendance and behavioral data to identify at-risk students.Â
- Conduct and analyze on-going formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness.Â
- Utilize available data to adjust student interventions as appropriate.Â
- Conduct an analysis that focuses on data for individual students and subgroups using prescribed tools and/or assessments.Â
2. Develop School-Wide Support and Interventions:Â
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators to identify and meet the needs of at-risk students.
- Design, implement, and coordinate an array of programs, services, and resources that will benefit students at risk, as well as the entire student population.
- Participate in school and district teams designed to develop and monitor student interventions.
- Coordinate a transition program for 9th graders to successfully adapt to the rigor of high school.
- Work with faculty and administrators to develop a credit recovery program and to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of identified at-risk students.Â
- Attend and redeliver as appropriate all required High School Graduation Coach training provided by the District, Georgia Department of Education, and/or other collaborative partners.Â
3. Provide Direct Service and Case Management:
- Develop and implement individual, small group, and whole school intervention and prevention strategies to increase the likelihood that students will stay in school and graduate.
- Work with students to develop an education and career plan to include the best program of study to meet academic, graduation, and post-secondary goals.
4. Develop Transition Programs and Vertical Teams with Middle Schools:Â
- Collaborate with feeder middle school(s) to identify students at-risk of high school failure.Â
- Conduct vertical team meetings among middle and high school faculty and staff.
- Develop action steps to improve individual student and subgroup transition success rates.Â
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and/or advisors to assure the development of transition programs to help students successfully adapt to the high school experience.
5. Develop Relationships with Parents/Guardians, Community Organizations, and Other Resources:Â
- Connect individual students and their parents/guardians with relevant community organizations and programs, including appropriate post-secondary opportunities.Â
- Develop or work with local mentoring programs, business and/or community partners to connect individual students with mentors.Â
- Provide support and outreach to parents/guardians of students identified as being at risk of not graduating.
6. Assessment and Reporting:
- Track the progress of individual students and school subgroups as they progress toward graduation.Â
- Conduct and analyze on-going formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness.Â
- Provide and submit reports as requested.Â
7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Â

Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for any Georgia certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Â
- At least three years of experience working with students at any level; successful experience working with at-risk students.Â
- Working knowledge of appropriate strategies for reducing behaviors that put students at risk of not graduating from high school.Â
- Ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies.Â
- Ability to manage and analyze/disaggregate student test data. Â
- Strong computer knowledge of various software programs for entering, retrieving, presenting, and reporting data.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community. Â
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. Â
- Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.Â
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.Â
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.Â
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
