About the role
As aDrug Product Specialist, you will be responsible for the scientific and technical aspects ofnew product introductions, technology transfers, and commercial manufacturing supportwithin drug product processes.
The role covers both the implementation of new processes and support for existing commercial products. You will contribute scientific expertise in areas such asformulation, aseptic filling, lyophilization, and visual inspection.
Key responsibilities for a Drug Product Specialist:
Lead the scientific aspects innew product introductions and technology transfers for drug product processes
Ensure commercial process robustnessthrough process understanding, risk assessments, technical studies, data analysis, and sound scientific recommendations
Lead process validation/process performance qualification
Lead/contribute to Product Maintenance
Provide product specific scientific and technical supportto ongoing commercial operations,
Contribute to the development of ways of working, digital templates, and risk-based approachesto enable consistency and efficiency across MS&T activities
Collaborate cross-functionallywith Operations, Engineering, QA, QC, Supply Chain, global teams, development functions, and external partners
Contribute to GMP documentation and regulatory submissions
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a strong scientific foundation who thrives in an environment wherescience meets manufacturing. You are comfortable taking ownership, driving technical and scientific topics forward, and translating complex data and process challenges into clear decisions and practical solutions. You are also flexible in adapting to new ways of working or identifying improvements to increase organisational effectiveness.
Essential for the role (requirements for the matrix in FG:
MSc or higher,in biotechnology, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or another relevant life science or engineering discipline
3+ years of experience inbiologics, pharmaceutical development, technology transfer or commercial manufacturing, with a focus ondrug product
Experience in one or more relevant areas such asformulation, aseptic filling, lyophilization, and visual inspection
Excellent communication skills inEnglish, both written and spoken
Desirable requirements:
APhDor other advanced specialization in a relevant field
Previous experience at AstraZeneca
Experience working inglobal and cross-functional teams
Knowledge ofsingle-use systems, isolator technology, or finished pack manufacturing
Previous experience with project management
Knowledge of digital transformation and AI applications in manufacturing, process monitoring, or technical support activities
Soft skills:
