Job DetailsJob Location: Stockton Distribution Center - Stockton, CA 95206Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $19.00 - $22.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: WarehouseJOB SUMMARY: Under the Donated Goods Management staff, the Material Handler II (MH2) provides advanced material handling support to Distribution Center operations through safe and accurate receiving, stocking, and order selecting and shipping. The MH2 will also be required to perform secondary duties.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Providing material handling support by: • Replenish selected material as requested/ordered. • Select ordered materials, ensure material is free from damage, accurately selected according to requisition, and communicate any identified damages/variances to the management staff. • Load selected material for shipment to stores; ensuring merchandise is free from damage, accurately placed on assigned trailer according to load plan, communicating any damages, variances or possible weight/cube limitation concerns to management staff. • Accurately complete, log, and transmit all receipts, pallet moves, selected orders, and loading requirements as directed. • Accurately account for all material movement using a hand-held PDA. Provide additional material handling support in MH1 capacities by: • Conveyance of material to and from storage or work site to the designated location. • Load/unload material. • Sorting of donated goods. • Accurately complete, log and transmit all assigned work, including productivity logs, as directed. • Separate and palletize Covered Electronics as necessary. Operation of assigned material handling equipment: • Performs equipment inspection as required by OSHA prior to using equipment, ensuring equipment is safe to operate, and deficiencies are communicated to management staff. immediately. • Observe direction of travel, pedestrian right of way, and intersection/corner etiquette by maintaining proper speed and awareness. • Maintain positive and safe control of equipment at all times. • Handling material according to trained safety specifications, preventing material damage. • Regular attendance is required in order to meet the essential job functions.   SECONDARY DUTIES: Performs duties as back up MH1, Clerk, Janitor. Performs all other duties as may be assigned.QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS   Education Required: Elementary education. Experience Required: One year of material handling experience in an automated warehouse environment and material handling equipment operation utilizing a forklift.   JOB SPECIFICATIONS   Knowledge Required: • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, knowledge of forklift driving skills, including operation and basic preventive maintenance, and warehouse procedures. • Ability to accurately read in English and write numbers.   Equipment Used: Time recorder, Electric pallet jack, LP Forklift, reach lift, pre-crusher/compactor, baler, dock levelers, appliance trucks, hand trucks, load locks and electronic PDA.   SKILLS/APTITUDES/TEMPERAMENTS   • Effective time management skills • Ability to comprehend detailed and basic instructions • Ability to work with diverse work group • Ability to communicate effectively • Ability to convey a positive image of the company in all actions and behaviors • Works well with others to deliver high-performance results • Open to change and the ability to implement change quickly • Moderate spatial reasoning skills • Ability to respond positively to supervision and feedback • Ability to work in a variable climate environment • Comfortable working under stressful, time-sensitive situations • Flexibility and willingness to assume new roles and respond to a variety of work assignments • Reliable and consistent attendance   EMOTIONAL EFFORT This position requires moderate emotional effort involved in interactions with co-workers and supervisors.   LICENSES/INSURANCE/TRANSPORTATION Must be able to pass Goodwill Industries’ forklift operator examination   JOB SETTING Semi-severe environmental conditions ranging from 25 to 115 degrees. Warehouse setting: Must wear leather shoes that cover the ankle.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to ambulate, reach, and lift up to 35 lbs., and have good hand/eye coordination. Good dexterity in upper extremities and upper torso.
