Job DetailsJob Location: Stockton, CA 95203Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $156,000.00 - $175,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: DayPOSITION SUMMARY: The Operating Room (OR) Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and operation of the Operating Room (OR) department. This role involves leadership of clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring the implementation of best practices in perioperative care, optimizing patient outcomes, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. This is a non-union position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Operational Management: 1. Oversee the daily operations of the OR, ensuring smooth workflows and efficient use of resources. 2. Ensure that surgical procedures are scheduled and executed efficiently, minimizing delays and optimizing OR utilization. 3. Ensure the department is adequately staffed with the right mix of skilled nurses, surgical technicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. 4. Manage patient flow, ensuring timely and appropriate preparation, procedures, and postoperative care. 5. Ensure that the OR meets regulatory requirements and maintains accreditation. Leadership and Staff Management: 1. Lead, supervise, and mentor OR nurses, surgical staff, anesthesiology teams, and support staff. 2. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for OR staff. 3. Ensure staff performance evaluations are completed regularly and address any performance issues. 4. Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment to enhance team dynamics and job satisfaction. Patient Care Management: 1. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard of perioperative patient care. 2. Ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols, infection control procedures, and best practices in perioperative nursing. 3. Monitor surgical outcomes and implement continuous improvements in care delivery. Quality Assurance and Compliance: 1. Monitor and assess the quality of care in the OR, implementing initiatives to improve patient safety and surgical outcomes. 2. Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, regulations, and policies, including infection prevention protocols. 3. Conduct regular audits of surgical procedures, sterilization processes, and safety procedures. 4. Address and resolve any concerns or complaints regarding patient care or operational issues. Collaboration with Other Departments: 1. Work closely with other hospital departments (e.g., Emergency Department, ICU, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, and Central Sterile Processing) to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication across the facility. 2. Participate in hospital-wide committees to contribute to policy development and improvement initiatives. Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management: 1. Ensure the OR is prepared for emergencies, including the development and implementation of protocols for surgical crisis situations. 2. Coordinate care during mass casualty events or other emergency scenarios requiring surgical intervention.   QualificationsEducation: Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is typically required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience: At least 5-7 years of clinical experience in an operating room or perioperative setting, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
