Pump Mechanic Technician

Before becoming incorporated as what is now “SHAPE Inc.”, our business began 8 years before as “EC Cooling”. EC Cooling started as a Flygt Distributor in 1971, and later continued uninterrupted as the official Northern California Municipal Flygt Distributor.

Shape’s corporate office is located in Pleasanton, CA where our day to day operations including admin, accounting, and sales (inside and out) are headquartered. Our Service Facility is located in Stockton, CA where our repair shop and warehouse, stock inventory, and sales are based. We have also recently opened our new Sacramento Area sales office in Gold River in the summer of 2020. This gives us centralized access to our full territory which covers north from the Kern County line to the Oregon Border and into parts of Northern Nevada. Responsibilities for all our lines not only include upfront engineering and sales, but aftermarket service and repairs.

Shape, Inc., a United Flow Technologies (UFT) company, is seeking a Pump Mechanic Technician to diagnose, rebuild, and maintain pumping equipment used in municipal and industrial water/wastewater systems. In this role, you will work both in our Stockton shop and in the field, performing mechanical and electrical service work. You’ll be a key part of our service team, representing Shape professionally to our customers and ensuring the reliability of critical pumping systems.

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Clean DMV record; willing to undergo random drug testing.
• 3+ years of mechanical experience, especially with pumps or heavy equipment.
• Skilled in using electrical testing tools/equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Proven forklift operation ability.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate computer literacy (e.g., for documentation, testing data).
• Fluent reading and writing in English.
• Strong time-management and efficiency skills.
• Frequent overnight travel required.
• Experience operating a boom truck.
• Electrical background (3 years) preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and PLC programming
